How to send Google Ads reports to Slack
Google Ads has no built-in Slack integration. To send Google Ads performance reports to Slack you need a third-party tool. You can build it with the Google Ads API and a Slack webhook, chain a workflow tool like Zapier or Make, or use a reporting tool such as Go Insights that connects to Google Ads and Slack directly and posts a formatted report with KPI cards, charts and a campaign table. The direct route takes about two minutes and needs no code.
Why teams want Google Ads data in Slack
Most PPC teams already live in Slack. Campaign discussions, client updates, performance questions. The data lives in the Google Ads dashboard. The conversations happen in Slack. There is a gap.
A weekly Google Ads report that lands in your #paid-search channel every Monday morning changes the dynamic. The team sees spend, conversions, CPC, and campaign performance without anyone having to open the Ads dashboard, export a CSV, or paste screenshots.
For agencies, this matters even more. Route each client's Google Ads report to a different Slack channel. The account manager sees their client's performance in the channel where they are already discussing that client's work.
Three ways to get Google Ads data into Slack
Build it yourself. Use the Google Ads API to pull campaign data, format it, and post to Slack via a webhook. This works if you have a developer with time. It breaks when the API changes, when auth tokens expire, or when nobody remembers how the script works. Maintenance is the killer.
Use Zapier, Make, or n8n. Google Ads is available as a source in most workflow tools. Set up a scheduled pull, format the data, post to Slack. The challenge is formatting. Workflow tools are not designed to create good-looking reports. You will get plain text or a basic table, not charts and KPI cards. It works for simple alerts but not for proper reporting.
Use a reporting tool. Tools like Go Insights connect directly to Google Ads and Slack. Pick a template (or build your own), choose a channel, set a schedule. The report arrives as a rich Slack message with KPI cards, charts, and tables. No code, no maintenance, no ugly plain-text dumps.
How to set it up with Go Insights
- Connect Google Ads. Sign in with your Google account. OAuth, read-only, takes about 30 seconds.
- Pick a template. The Google Ads Report template covers spend, clicks, conversions, CTR, cost by campaign, and a full campaign performance table. For a campaign-by-campaign comparison, use the Google Ads Campaign Report template. Or build your own.
- Choose your Slack channel. Any channel: a dedicated #google-ads channel, your team channel, a client-specific channel, or a DM.
- Set the schedule. Daily, weekly, or monthly. Most teams choose weekly on Monday morning.
Two minutes from start to first scheduled report.
What the report looks like in Slack
A rich message posted to your channel. Here is the Google Ads Report as it lands in #paid-search:
The whole team sees it. No dashboard login required. Every report includes:
- KPI tiles: total clicks, impressions, cost, and CTR, each with comparison to the previous period
- A line chart showing cost and clicks over time against the previous period
- A bar chart showing cost by campaign
- A campaign performance table with cost, clicks, impressions, and CPC per campaign

Don't just report. Monitor.
A weekly report shows what happened last week. It does not tell you when a campaign's CPC doubled on Thursday at 3am, or when spend hit 2x the daily budget on a Saturday.
Go Insights checks Google Ads every hour between reports. If something changes, an overspend, an underspend, a budget edit, or a conversion drop, you get an alert in the same Slack channel. The report gives you the regular update. The alerts catch the things that cannot wait. Both are included on every plan, and you can see how ad spend monitoring works for the detail.
